DTI Cloud is Digital Technology International’s award-winning cloud computing platform for the publishing industry. The company was honored with the Cloud Computing Excellence Award by Cloud Computing magazine in January 2012.
What is Digital Technology’s SaaS experience?
After three years of planning, engineering and testing, DTI Cloud was launched in 2009 as an enterprise-class cloud publishing platform with the highest levels of availability and end-to-end network performance. Digital Technology has embraced the cloud and transformed our company into a Software-as-a-Service business. DTI Cloud quickly became the fastest growing cloud publishing solution in the industry. DTI Cloud has become the heart of our business and now supports thousands of users and the largest editorial (Sun-Times Media Group) and circulation (Freedom Communications) cloud deployments in the news media industry.
Which solutions are available in DTI Cloud?
All of Digital Technology’s core publishing solutions are available as either cloud or on-premises deployments: DTI ContentPublisher, DTI Circulation, and DTI Advertising. DTI AudienceReach, the digital behavioral targeting platform, is only available in DTI Cloud due to its real-time data model.
What are the key advantages?
DTI Cloud provides digital cost performance advantages over on-premises implementations due to hardware and network economies of scale without capital expenditures; on-demand performance capacity, and more built-in security than any single newspaper could typically afford to implement. It also enables media organizations to respond rapidly to the changing demands of digital news publishing because DTI Cloud customers are always on the latest release of software.
Will our workflow have to change?
No. Your workflow will not need to change. DTI Cloud is built on multi-instance, single tenant architecture for local configurability of industry best practices. Our experts can suggest improvements in workflow efficiency and best practices learned from our experience in cloud publishing deployments.
How do I know DTI Cloud will work for my newspaper?
It’s been proven at hundreds of newspapers and three years of 24/7 performance. Cloud computing is rapidly becoming the preferred IT infrastructure in the news media industry following adopted across most business sectors from banking to healthcare. A wide range of Digital Technology customers are now running their entire news, circulation and advertising operations via DTI Cloud.
How can you guarantee performance?
Our Service Level Agreement is the strongest in the industry and guarantees your performance and uptime because we are confident in the DTI Cloud architecture, bandwidth and capacity. It is uniquely architected to deliver superior end-to-end network performance by addressing total system latency with multi-homing and route optimization. Network redundancy across a minimum of six carriers ensures optimal delivery of all your content. DTI Cloud uses patented route-control technology to dynamically identify the best path for our applications and your data with a 100% uptime guarantee. DTI has partnered with Internap for route optimization technology as well as the latest cloud computing technologies from VMware, CISCO and NetApp, among others, to deliver optimal performance and data security for each DTI Cloud customer.
What equipment do I need to install in our facility?
DTI Cloud is accessible via the Internet from any Web-enabled device whether in the office, at home, the football stadium or the local coffee shop. At your primary facility, we recommend two high-speed connections to the Internet (to provide back-up). User workstations need to be minimally-configured to support a standard Web browser.
Will my data be totally secure?
Yes. DTI Cloud provides you with a single tenant environment that resides within a hardened data center, complete with firewall and multi-layered security features such military-grade security and intrusion detection. Multi-instance means that you enjoy economies of scale while single tenancy means your data is stored separately from other publishers’ cloud data.
What happens if the network fails?
It won’t fail because the traffic will get re-routed automatically using patented multi-homing and route optimization technology. With DTI Cloud, network redundancy across a minimum of six carriers ensures optimal delivery of your content and always on access to you applications. A patented Managed Internet Route Optimizer™ (MIRO) technology monitors the performance of each Internet backbone, routing your traffic across the best path to provide faster and more reliable content and data delivery than traditional routing methods. Advanced analytics are used to probe and benchmark all known points on the Internet through each bandwidth carrier and continuously adjust the routes that the content uses to reach the end-user.

What happens if we either buy, or sell, titles?
If you add titles, or users, an amendment will be made to your DTI Cloud service agreement. If you sell titles, the service agreement states that permission to transfer a license should not be unreasonably withheld.
How can do I know you will not start raising prices?

Can we still send files to remote print sites?
Yes, DTI Cloud can send print files to remote printing facilities in a way that is typically faster and more secure than current networks.
Does DTI use a single or multi-tenant environment?
DTI Cloud employs a single tenancy model to provide customers with a better balance of flexibility and security. With single tenancy, a publisher’s content and data is stored separately from other publishers’ data. Applications are shared to create economies of scale for all customers. Single tenancy is also preferred as the way to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and other public company accounting requirements.
