DTI's Trainer Certification Process At Digital Technology International, we value knowledge and experience. That is why we hire members of the training staff from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our numbers include journalists who had to learn how to teach; ad designers and managers who had to improve their technical skills; teachers who had to learn the newspaper business; and computer lovers who had to develop their people skills. It is a rare applicant who can demonstrate expertise in all three skill areas - publishing, teaching, computing - so the first obligation of Digital Technology University is to provide the missing pieces.

All new employees undergo a 12-week training course that leads to mastery of the DTI applications and the delivery process. If they successfully complete the course, candidates receive certification of their basic competency.

Following certification, the newly minted trainer will observe and conduct training under the supervision of a senior trainer. The senior trainer is required to report on the skills of the junior trainer via a Coach's Review, which becomes a permanent part of the student trainer's file.

The new trainer must complete a minimum of 22 varied training assignments before qualifying for advancement. The DTU Directors may then assign the trainer to assist a Site Manager with software configuration, training and implementation on a specific project. In this role, the trainer will have the opportunity to expand his or her leadership and management skills. After gaining experience at this level, the next step is site management.

A Site Manager acts as the team leader for the DTI training team assigned to the site. The Site Manager works directly with top management at the site and DTI's Project Managers to bring projects to a successful completion. To reach this senior level requires several years of demonstrated competence in implementing DTI projects and the successful completion of management and peer reviews.

At all levels, the training staff undergoes on-site performance audits by the DTU Directors.

DTI's current certification program has evolved over the last 12 years and it will continue to evolve to meet the needs of our growing company and our users. The DTU Directors encourage feedback from customers and all others involved in the process. We constantly evaluate our programs, training materials and documentation to provide the best training in the shortest amount of time for our users..
