The focus of task–centered training is to teach users how to use DTI software to perform the tasks necessary for their job, rather than teach them features, which they may never need to use. Students are trained to use features according to a workflow, making what they learn relevant and resulting in skills they can use immediately.

Just as a student attending college focuses his or her schedule to include only the classes needed to graduate in the chosen field, DT University teaches copy editors, for example, how to perform the necessary tasks to get the paper out on deadline with the new DTI system.

Key to the success of task–centered training is the development a "Support Team". This special group of employees is made up of departmental supervisors, or managers, and selected users who will be the first ones trained so that they can support other newly trained users.

Picking the best and the brightest to learn the new system first so that they can coach their co–workers during production minimizes frustration and helps move employees quickly toward proficiency on the new DTI system.

Basic courses cover only what is needed to perform a specific task, however, DTI University also offers advanced, site–specific training courses customized for each site on an as–needed basis.

DT University’s goal is to help trainees move along the learning path until they become efficient in their particular job. This goal is accomplished through a combination of our task–centered training classes and structured exercises during implementation.

DT University also offers an Advanced Certification Program to motivate employees to continue improving their production skills.
