CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT CAPABILITIES KEY TO THE SPOKESMAN–REVIEW’S PURCHASE OF PBS MEDIAPLUS® ADVERTISING SOLUTIONS

Real–time access to customer information will facilitate territory management

Minneapolis, MN – October 31, 2006 – To improve the ability of its sales managers to oversee their territories, and to enhance its billing and financial statement processes, The Spokesman–Review, Spokane, Washington, has agreed to license MediaPlus® Display Advertising and MediaPlus® iServices Mobile from Publishing Business Systems, North America’s leading source for integrated enterprise–wide newspaper business software systems.

“We wanted a system that would allow our sales managers to manage their territories with relative ease, plus combine our disparate accounts receivable billing systems into one” said Lynn Dahmen, Marketing Technology manager. “We chose PBS for the features in MediaPlus Display Advertising and iServices Mobile that will better equip our accounting and sales departments to work more efficiently. Another reason we chose PBS is because we currently use MediaPlus® Circulation; not only has Circulation met our needs, but we’ve been especially pleased with the support we receive.”

MediaPlus Display Advertising is a comprehensive system that assists in generating more revenue by managing the ordering, pricing, billing, receivables and sales reporting of display ads, while offering sales reps tools to deliver great service. MediaPlus iServices Mobile is an online solution for outside sales reps that require real–time, remote access to advertising client and order information, and is fully integrated with MediaPlus Display Advertising. This system was designed with sales reps in mind; all they need is an Internet–ready wireless or Web–enabled device.

The Spokesman–Review agreement includes MediaPlus® CRM, a customer relationship management application that is fully integrated within MediaPlus Display Advertising. MediaPlus CRM supports growth objectives by empowering sales managers to create client–targeted campaigns with assigned prospecting lists, tasks and activities for individuals, or sales teams. The manager can also designate campaign follow up activities and track and analyze campaign results.

“Our current display system is 20 years old, so we’re happy about the new functionality the PBS system will offer. For example, the accounts receivable portion will give us the ability to export billing information from our existing classified system and merge it with billing information from our new display system to produce a single, combined statement for our customers. On top of that, PBS offers helpful documentation for everything, and when we have questions, the support staff is very knowledgeable and easy to contact.”

MediaPlus Display Advertising, available with Oracle® or Microsoft® SQL database compatibility, is being installed on SQL for The Spokesman–Review.
