PBS TO DEMONSTRATE NEW AND UPDATED MEDIAPLUS® CIRCULATION iSERVICES ONLINE SELF–SERVICE SOLUTIONS AT NEXPO 2006

Enhancements offer time and cost saving benefits to newspapers

Minneapolis, MN – February 28, 2006 – Publishing Business Systems, North America’s leading source for integrated enterprise–wide newspaper business software systems, today announced that it will introduce several new enhancements to MediaPlus® Circulation iServices at the NEXPO 2006 conference in Chicago, Ill. MediaPlus Circulation iServices is a collection of online self–service solutions that provide newspaper employees and remote contractors with quick, convenient access to the information they need to manage distribution–related matters themselves, and helps increase customer satisfaction by giving subscribers the ability to easily manage their subscriptions online.

A new look in online subscription management
At the show, PBS will unveil a new, enhanced interface to MediaPlus Circulation iServices Subscriber, an online application that makes it easy for new customers to start a subscription, and allows existing customers to view and update their subscription information themselves anytime. The new interface and improved navigation easily steps subscribers through a variety of tasks from initiating a vacation stop to making a payment. The updated design also provides new benefits to the newspaper, including the ability to add targeted promotional messages to the interface. For example, newspapers can encourage an upsell package on the subscription selection page or promote the benefits of EZ Pay on the payment screen.

Eight newspapers have implemented iServices Subscriber since NEXPO 2005. The application is easy to install and completely customizable to the newspaper’s Web site and business rule requirements. iServices Subscriber is seamlessly integrated with MediaPlus® Circulation, the company’s core system that manages the entire circulation business cycle, so all information entered online is automatically and securely updated to the circulation system database. And while subscribers are performing more routine transactions themselves, newspaper customer service reps can spend more time generating new subscriptions, welcoming new subscribers and validating new deliveries.

Remote distribution management
MediaPlus® Circulation iServices Distribution gives carriers, agents, distributors, distribution managers and newspaper employees the ability to manage distribution–related matters themselves, without the assistance of in–house newspaper staff. iServices Distribution provides anywhere anytime access to route, delivery and return information. At NEXPO 2006, PBS will demonstrate a new feature that allows users to make payments online. They also have the ability to enter single copy returns data and record future draw changes by location, to facilitate draw analyses and optimize single copy sales. And because iServices Distribution is fully integrated with MediaPlus Circulation, all information entered off–site is secure and immediately available for use in ABC reporting, return draw analyses and billing.

Real–time information from the street
Also new this year is MediaPlus® Circulation iServices Campaign, an online module for tracking external–based sales campaigns. iServices Campaign is integrated with Targeted Marketing, a feature–rich marketing component in MediaPlus Circulation. Targeted Marketing is used to set up the campaign list and section it into marketing segments. Remote or internal staff members can log into iServices Campaign to record campaign activity including new subscription starts, reject reasons, follow up requests and more. Using iServices Campaign, activity can be tracked in real–time and monitored in MediaPlus Circulation.
