PBS WILL DEMONSTRATE NEW ENHANCEMENTS IN MEDIAPLUS® ADVERTISING AT NEXPO 2006
Better Functionality for Users, More Convenience for Customers
Minneapolis, MN – March 7, 2006 – Publishing Business Systems, North America’s leading source for integrated enterprise–wide newspaper business software systems, today announced it will demonstrate enhancements it has made to MediaPlus® Advertising at the NEXPO 2006 conference in Chicago, Ill. MediaPlus Advertising is a comprehensive advertising solution, designed to improve every aspect of a newspaper's advertising operations – from classified and display sales to ad creation, scheduling and callbacks. The core components of MediaPlus Advertising are MediaPlus® Classified Advertising and MediaPlus® Display Advertising.
New online revenue opportunities
The Advertising Export–to–Web
Utility is a sophisticated engine that allows newspapers
to quickly and easily export ads that have been booked in MediaPlus
Classified Advertising. Ad files can be transferred
to a newspaper’s own Web page, or imported into a third–party
application such as Cars.com or CareerBuilder.com for extra
revenue–building opportunities.
More online convenience for your customers
Customers who have placed a classified ad online using iServices Order Entry, a self–service application, can now perform more transactions online. Advertisers have the ability to enter an ad and change order information, right from their own computer. And users of iServices Mobile, an online, self–service tool that gives newspaper sales representatives immediate access to their advertising system, will now be able to view contract fulfillment and quotes for display ads, view campaign activity and status, as well as payment and credit information, from their Internet browser.
Step–saving shortcut keys
MediaPlus Classified Advertising has the ability to configure shortcut keys to automatically populate one or more characters into the text editor for classified ads. This is helpful when entering pre–defined text for a certain ad type or character attention–getters, such as a row of stars. Users not only can create a custom set of shortcuts, but can also configure the character or characters, font, and point size. It is possible to program as many shortcuts as there are available keys on the keyboard.
Improved contract offerings
MediaPlus Classified Advertising and MediaPlus
Display Advertising contracts may be combined for fulfillment purposes, allowing newspapers greater flexibility in their contract offerings. This feature can be utilized when a single contract is offered for different types of advertising, such as classified advertising, ROP display advertising and preprints. In addition, contract fulfillment can now be manually adjusted in Display Advertising.
Added functionality in complementary products
The Accounts Receivable capability of MediaPlus
Advertising now has an enhanced client search engine, along with added Payment Authorization security and validation. Another new feature is the ability to automatically generate collection letters, eliminating the need for newspaper staff to manually create and send letters. The improved Accounts Receivable system also has the ability to automatically release customers from credit holds when financial obligations have been met as well as place them in a customer hold status when a transaction places them outside their credit terms.
PBS will also demonstrate enhancements to MediaPlus® Layout andMediaPlus® Pagination, complementary applications to MediaPlus Advertising solutions. Users can now:
- Create banners and fillers on–the–fly within a layout
- Randomly sort classified ads within their classification
- Break classified liner ads over multiple columns
- Return liner placement data to the advertising database
- View display ads in the layout
Client and invoice information is now available within ReportPlus, allowing users to incorporate client credit, balance, and invoice data into customized reports.
