COMMUNITY PUBLISHERS INSTALLS PBS MEDIAPLUS® AD MANAGEMENT
System Reporting Makes Achieving Goals Easier
Minneapolis, MN – March 29, 2006 – Publishing Business Systems, North America’s leading source for integrated enterprise-wide newspaper business software systems, today announced that Community Publishers Inc. has licensed MediaPlus® Ad Management for several Tulsa, Okla., area newspapers it purchased in December from Retherford Publications Inc.
Based in Bentonville, Ark., CPI is a newspaper and commercial printing company serving communities in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. CPI now owns two free distribution shoppers, 19 weeklies, three twice–weeklies, three daily newspapers and one bimonthly publication. The new publications include the Owasso Reporter, Sand Springs Leader, Tulsa Business Journal and Broken Arrow Daily Ledger. The Tulsa area publications reach more than 210,000 readers.
“We’re coming up on 13 years as a PBS customer,” said Roger Frye, systems/technology director, CPI. “We’re familiar with its products and believe in them.”
While Retherford’s existing software worked fine for billing purposes, it wasn’t robust enough when it came to reporting. “We do a lot of planning and goal setting,” explained Frye. “For instance, we need to track monthly, quarterly and annual goals by sales rep and publication. We also want to keep an eye on quarter–to–quarter and year–to–year numbers by industry.”
According to Frye, “CPI couldn’t achieve the results we expect without an easy–to–use system that delivers the information we need, when we need it.”
