TARGETED MARKETING CAPABILITIES KEY TO THE EAGLE’S PURCHASE OF PBS MEDIAPLUS® CIRCULATION AND MEDIAPLUS® iSERVICES

Marketing tools and customer self–services to increase retention and customer satisfaction

Minneapolis, MN – August 8, 2006 – To enhance its targeted marketing activities and improve its reporting capabilities, The Eagle, Bryan, Texas, has agreed to license MediaPlus® Circulation, MediaPlus® iServices Subscriber and MediaPlus® List MatchPlus from Publishing Business Systems, North America’s leading source for integrated enterprise-wide newspaper business software systems.

“Our current system was no longer meeting our needs, especially in the marketing areas,” said Tony Powell, circulation director of The Eagle. “What sold us on PBS MediaPlus Circulation was the comprehensive functionality, strong target marketing capabilities and the ease of use of the system. Also important was knowing that we would have continued support from PBS on the product well into the future.”

The Eagle has daily circulation of 22,843 and Sunday circulation of 25,277. The paper is part of the Charleston-based Evening Post Publishing Company, which owns 14 other daily and weekly newspapers in the Carolinas and Texas regions.

The agreement includes MediaPlus Circulation, a comprehensive, revenue-generating system that expertly manages the entire circulation business cycle, from processing subscriber information to delivering the newspaper. MediaPlus Circulation includes tools to increase sales, manage returns and create, test and analyze direct marketing campaigns.

MediaPlus iServices Subscriber is seamlessly incorporated with MediaPlus Circulation, so all information entered online is immediately integrated with the circulation system database. Subscribers are given the opportunity to execute everyday transactions themselves, freeing newspaper customer services reps to allocate more time rendering new subscriptions, welcoming new subscribers and confirming new deliveries.

MediaPlus Circulation, which is being installed on a Progress database for The Eagle, is also available with Oracle® database compatibility.
