QUINCY NEWSPAPERS, INC. PURCHASE MEDIAPLUS® CIRCULATION
The Quincy Herald–Whig and The New Jersey Herald sought customer–centric system
Minneapolis, MN, – December 8, 2005 – Publishing Business Systems, North America’s leading source for integrated enterprise–wide newspaper business software systems, today announced it has signed an agreement with Quincy Newspapers Inc. to install MediaPlus® Circulation in The Herald–Whig, Quincy, Ill., a 23,375 circulation daily and The New Jersey Herald, a 16,719 daily that serves the Newton, N.J. market. Circulation operations for both newspapers will be serviced out of the Quincy location.
In its search for a new circulation system, Quincy Newspapers was interested in acquiring a customer–centric solution. "One of the things we like about the PBS system is that it seems to have a good command of customer service applications. It collects more data and retains the subscriber’s history. And the set up is robust – we can establish triggers to alert us if it spots a customer service issue," said Scott Ruff, vice president of Newspapers and general manager of the Quincy Herald–Whig.
Quincy Newspapers also licensed MediaPlus® iServices Subscriber, an online, self–service application that allows customers to start new subscriptions, and allows subscribers to view and change their account information. "We recognize that a growing portion of people prefer to work online, and iServices Subscriber is a good platform to provide this service," Ruff said.
