PBS MEDIAPLUS® ADVERTISING SYSTEM ADDS ORACLE®

Database compatibility is additional option for customers

Minneapolis, MN, – December 8, 2005 – Publishing Business Systems (PBS), North America’s leading source for integrated enterprise–wide newspaper business software systems, today announced the addition of Oracle® database compatibility for the PBS MediaPlus® Advertising system.

MediaPlus Advertising is a comprehensive solution designed to improve every aspect of a newspaper’s advertising operation, from classified and display sales to ad creation, scheduling and callbacks. PBS added the option of Oracle® database support for MediaPlus Advertising in response to the changing needs of the newspaper industry. "The addition of Oracle® database support represents another milestone in the company’s path towards database transparency and allows PBS to better serve the industry by helping newspapers leverage internal database expertise they have already invested in," said Ron Bernier, president of PBS. Newspapers benefit in time, cost and resource savings through a single vendor who can support a common database environment across their advertising and circulation business systems.

Oracle® joins Microsoft® SQL as databases supported by the MediaPlus Advertising system and is currently available. The company’s MediaPlus® Circulation system also runs on an Oracle® database.
