PBS CIRCULATION SYSTEM ADDS ORACLE®
Database compatibility provides a new option for customers
Minneapolis, MN, – June 10, 2004 – Publishing Business Systems (PBS), North America’s leading source for integrated enterprise–wide newspaper business software systems, today announced the addition of Oracle® database compatibility for the company’s MediaPlus®Circulation Management system.
MediaPlus Circulation Management, a comprehensive system that manages all aspects of a newspaper’s circulation business, is currently installed in over 400 newspapers across the country. Adding Oracle® database support allows the company to expand its reach and work towards the vision of database transparency. “Newspapers want to be able to pick the database engine of their choice. Our goal is provide additional options for our customers who may have standardized on a specific database system. This allows them to leverage any internal database expertise they may have to support their new circulation system”, comments Steve Smith, PBS CEO.
The Oracle® release is currently available. Oracle® joins Progress as databases supported by the MediaPlus Circulation Management system. Plans for adding Microsoft® SQL database support are scheduled for 2005.
