PUBLISHING BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP ROLES
Talent Key to Helping Company Bring New Solutions to Market
Minneapolis, MN, – December 7, 2004 – Publishing Business Systems (PBS), North America’s leading source for integrated enterprise–wide newspaper business software systems, announces two new positions and one new hire, each of which will play a key role in helping PBS continue to develop innovative software solutions, integrate and streamline operations to better serve customers, and maintain a leading edge in the market.
PBS moved Andre Paquette to chief technical officer and promoted Clark Zumbach to vice president of advertising development. The company also hired Lynn Yawn as vice president of advertising sales. “We’re confident that with these three key people in leadership roles, we have the talent to guide the development of the next generation of newspaper software solutions, continue to successfully integrate our operations and position PBS for continued growth,” said Steve Smith, president and chief executive officer of PBS.
In his new position, Paquette will draw upon 20 years of successful newspaper advertising and production experience to define the company’s technology roadmap and development strategy. Previously, Paquette served as president of Informatel Software, which he founded in 1984 and grew from a single accounting system to a suite of ’best of breed’ advertising solutions. Informatel, headquartered in Montreal, Canada, was acquired by PBS in January of 2003.
“Paquette is a visionary with a keen understanding of the software technology required to serve our target markets effectively, now and in the future,” said Smith. “Andre excels at the practical application of technology and adapting it to solve the complex challenges faced by the newspaper industry. His new position underscores our commitment to excellence and sends an important message to the industry that PBS is not only keeping up, but we’re also raising the bar.”
Zumbach, who will also be based in Montreal, will guide the development and implementation of the company’s MediaPlus® Advertising solutions. Previously he was director of customer support for PBS and was responsible for initiating several innovative solutions, including the PBS Online Customer Support Center. Zumbach brings 15 years of experience in systems support and software development to his new role.
“This investment in such proven talent also greatly benefits our customers,” said Smith. “It enables us to better anticipate their emerging business needs and respond with the right technology to help them grow their business, provide better customer service and help them better manage their resources.”
In his position as vice president of advertising sales, Yawn, who will be based in Florida, will further strengthen the company’s MediaPlus Advertising solutions. A 37–year industry veteran, Yawn brings a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise to PBS, which he gained through previous positions in newspapers and with newspaper service providers.
